Interact Club Raises Money for Hurricane Relief

The MS/HS Interact Club held a heart-signing and cookie sale event to raise money for hurricane relief and asked faculty to help with dress-down day donations. The students decided to send the $282 collected directly to a small organization in Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, that we learned, through personal connections, was helping neighbors who still don’t have roofs on their homes, or electricity, or food, or means of cooking food. My Brother’s Workshop trains at-risk youth in woodworking skills and employs others in their café and bakery.  The carpenters are helping people repair their houses, and the café is providing daily free community meals to lines of people who show up for food help.
